(Chief Finance Officer, CFO)
The finance director is the money person. But don’t think it is just about double entry bookkeeping and lots of arithmetic. Although you will look after the accounts and record income and expenditure, you also need to plan and advise on the future by having an idea of when money will be coming into the company and being spent. Almost every important decision will need the finance director’s agreement, as there is a financial cost and benefit in everything your company does.
This role is for you if you are good with numbers, good at analysing information and making decisions. You also need to be strong enough to stop your colleagues spending money you don’t have!
This role is not for you if you hate spreadsheets!
